Career Tree's Mission

Undeniably the world is changing. Robotics and automation is changing our physical work world. Internet and artificial intelligence is changing our virtual work world. The knowledge economy is increasing in importance but that is due to change as well. Automation, AI and technology is redefining not just life but how we work as well. For some of us, the world is changing too fast and leaving us behind. The purpose of Career Tree is to help people find their careers for the future. It’s not just to help young students who are need a little guidance but also for those looking to find a more fulfilling career than the one that they have. But one group that we really want to help are those who have been left behind as technology has change the world. A wise man said that if you’re not growing, then you’re dying. So let’s keep growing.

I would like to tell you why I’m so passionate about starting Career Tree. My family came to the United States as refugees because no other country wanted us. Vietnam, China, and Hong Kong didn’t want us. The United States was willing to take chance on my parents and a two year old me. We didn’t have much to offer. We didn’t have much money. We only had the clothes on our backs and the dreams of a better life. The journey wasn’t easy for a child who didn’t have much guidance. No one would tell me about how the world would change and determine what I would end up doing with my life. No one would ask me to think deeply about the concept of work or career. No one would blend the concept of purpose, happiness and work together. No one would help me differentiate the difference between an education and building skills. Much of it, I would learn through books, mistakes, and experience. It was an awfully long way to figure things out. My hopes is that Career Tree will help people get there faster. Find a career and path that not only provides well but also builds values and makes us happy.
